Prof. Lixian Jin attends Roundtable to share new perspectives on studying affairs between contemporary China and international relations

Prof. Lixian Jin, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of City University of Macau, attended last week (21) the Fifth Roundtable of Overseas Contemporary China Studies and the Opening Ceremony of the Wuhan University Overseas Contemporary China Research Base of the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute. During the roundtable conference, Prof. Jin was invited to deliver a themed speech on “Intercultural Communication Competence in International Media and Publicity.”

The roundtable conference took placed in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, which was jointly organised by the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Bureau of the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute, the Center of Cooperative Innovation for Marxist Theory and Chinese Practice, and the School of Marxism of Wuhan University.

Prof. Jin presented some of her key ideas of intercultural communication at the roundtable. Other speakers referred to these ideas in the following sessions. Representatives from national and academic institutions acknowledged that Prof. Jin had offered a new perspective for studying contemporary China and international relations.

The conference attracted more than 50 experts and scholars respectively from the Central Academy of Party History and Documentation, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Foreign Languages Bureau, the National Defense University of PLA China, the National Library of China, and scholars from more than a dozen of higher education institutions. Participants engaged in detailed discussions under the theme of ‘international recognition and public image promotion of the Centennial of the Party’.
