A delegation led by chairman of the Macau Song Qing Ling Foundation, Mr. Song Tao, visited the City University of Macau yesterday (28). Rector Jun Liu and Pro-Rector Ip Kuai Peng warmly received the group at the Taipa campus.
The two parties talked about the legend of Madam Song Qing Ling, the wife of Dr. Sun Yat Sen who many Chinese consider the founder of modern China. They also exchanged views on the value of "Loving the Country, Loving Macao", China's effort towards reunification, and the relations across the Straits.
During the occasion, Rector Liu gave an overview of the achievement of CityU Macau in recent years and the future development strategies of the University. He spoke highly of the endeavor and the contributions made by the Foundation and expressed hope for future cooperation.
Mr. Song praised CityU Macau for upholding "Loving the Country, Loving Macao" as its development principle. Mr. Song recounted the year of 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the 40th anniversary of the University, and the critical preparation phase to push forward the development of cross-strait relations and advance the process toward peaceful reunification of the motherland. He invited the University to jointly hold a seminar to discuss cross-strait relations and reunification in the meeting.
