
A signing ceremony for a memorandum of cooperation between the City University of Macau (CityU) and Wanda Hotels & Resorts was held at the Taipa Campus. In the presence of Rector Jun Liu and Executive Vice President Liu Yingwu of Wanda Hotels and Resorts, both parties signed the agreement to strengthen collaboration in academic research, talent cultivation, and internships and employment, aiming to jointly promote the development of tourism management and the hotel service industry.

During the ceremony, Rector Liu delivered a remark, highlighting CityU’s commitment to cultivate high-quality, applied, and international talent. He mentioned that the collaboration with Wanda Hotels & Resorts would provide students with an effective internship platform, allowing them to apply their knowledge and enhance their professional competitiveness. He emphasized that this partnership would be an important step in advancing industry-academia collaboration and integrating education with industry, which was significant for enhancing the teaching quality and its capacity to serve society.

Executive Vice President Liu Yingwu expressed high recognition of CityU’s teaching quality and research capabilities, stating that Wanda Hotels & Resorts would fully support this collaboration. He mentioned that as a leading hotel group in China, Wanda has always been committed to providing guests with an exceptional service experience; and this partnership with CityU would help introduce more outstanding talent to Wanda, further enhancing their service quality and brand influence.
In the presence of representatives from both sides, Li Xi, executive associate dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) at CityU, and Wang Zhenxiang, general manager of the Human Resources and Administration Center at Wanda Hotels & Resorts, signed the memorandum of cooperation, marking the official launch of their collaboration.
At the event, Zhou Yuchen, an intern from the Human Resources and Administration Center of Wanda Hotels & Resorts and a student at FITM, shared his experiences studying at CityU and interning at Wanda. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the internship opportunities provided by both the University and Wanda. Zhou mentioned that this internship gave him a deeper understanding of the hotel industry and allowed him to learn how to apply his knowledge in practical work settings.
Subsequently, representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions about future collaboration directions and specific measures.
Attendees at the signing ceremony also included Wang Ping, executive vice general manager of the Human Resources Center at Wanda Hotels & Resorts; Wang Weiwei, recruitment director; as well as Janice Law Yin Man, program coordinator at FITM, and Fan Xuefeng, professor at FITM.
